“Treestand safety is the No. 1 cause of hunting-related incidents,” said Michael Wynder, national sales manager for HSS. “Every year we lose more than 20 hunters who fall from treestands, and that doesn’t account for all the hunters who break their backs or are sitting in wheelchairs because they didn’t wear a simple harness.”
The new Ultra-Lite Flex features a series of individual, padded hexagons that provide a comfortable and snug fit with extreme flexibility. The upper-body webbing, tether and waist buckle give the strength a safety harness needs without adding weight.
“We’re trying to remove any reason a hunter may not wear a safety harness,” Wydner said. “The harnesses are lighter, quieter and more durable than ever. Whether you’re a 50-pound child or a 400-pound man, we have a model that will fit everyone. There’s no excuse for not wearing one.”
Also in the product line this year is the HSS Contour made specifically for women. The vest provides women the safety expected from an HSS system without the bulk of a man’s harness.
