If you haven’t seen the most recent Dodge Ram commercial, it’s a typical truck ad: it’s unabashedly strong. It’s about cowboys, surfers, motorcyclists, mountain climbers, soldiers and of course, archers. In other words, it’s all about women.
The commercial first aired during the Academy of Country Music awards, and those of us who saw it got goosebumps. Not only is it an incredible tribute to the #LikeAGirl movement, but it shows Eva Shockey, one of our favorite archers and the first woman to be featured on the cover of Field & Stream in over 30 years.
Shockey, well-known for her focus on archery and bowhunting, had fans blowing up her Twitter feed with cheers and good wishes on the Ram spot. @KatiePavlich tweeted: “Back to the @RamTrucks commercial, awesome to see @EvaShockey representing lady hunters! Apologize for what? #ACMawards50.”
